There is no need to rent a car with all-wheel drive, if you are not going to visit hard-to-reach mountainous areas. A small compact car is much cheaper, and fuel consumption is incomparably smaller.

Book your car in advance, especially if you are renting in the summer "high" season, when the demand for rental is huge and sometimes there may be no free cars.

Carefully read the contract for car rental - some companies set restrictions on mileage or the regions. Pay attention to the terms of insurance and hidden payments. And try to learn more about the driving style of local drivers to know what to expect on the roads of Tbilisi.

The total cost of renting a car is determined by a set of factors:

  • What are you renting
  • Where are you renting
  • For how long are you renting

These three key issues are in the first place when booking the car, any rental company or booking system will ask you these questions in order to offer you suitable options. As soon as you get the answers to these questions, you can be sure that you have chosen the car you need.

After choosing the car there are some things you need to check:

  • the availability of air conditioning
  • the type of fuel (for example, diesel)
  • Insurance policy
  • the availability of special equipment (for example, navigation system)

Note that mini cars - the cheapest ones can be too small and unsuitable for a family or for more than 4 adults. Think again, it may be worth to pay a little more and to get more comfort.
